When It Rains, It Sure Does Pour!!

Well to say the least it's been a pretty rough 2 weeks!!....Somehow I did survive and am living to tell about it! :) Brynlee came down with RSV...very scary since she had respiratory problems when she was born. I distinctly remember the NICU doctor saying, make sure she doesn't get RSV it could land her back in the hospital! Well life happens...and she ended up getting it. Probably from church is my guess but who knows? She was okay enough to not be admitted to the hospital but we had to do breathing treatments at home and had some REALLY bad nights/days!! I honestly don't know how I would have survived this if it weren't for my amazing mom. She went to every doctors appointment with me (we had one like everyday for a week) and came over a lot during the day so I could sleep, or shower, or just have some time to do laundry, dishes, etc.... She was an angel from heaven!! There was even one night when I couldn't get Brynlee to calm down so I called her at midnight and she was there to help. Her and I both were up all night with Brynlee and when she would finally sleep in hour increments at a time, my mom slept on my couch. I honestly, honestly don't know what I would do without my mom! She has been my sanity, my strength, and my support through all this! Don't get me wrong I do love my husband and he's been there too, but since he's been working crazy hours I just want him to sleep and get the rest he needs at night so he can function at work! But he has been gone more than he is home...so I definitely know the feeling of being a single parent. Frankly, I don't think I could ever do it! I have so much respect for those who do! On top of the RSV Brynlee also had double ear infections which made matters even worse! The good thing from that is that she is getting tubes put on on the 20th!!! HooRay!!! :) I came down with a sinus infection during all this probably due to lack of sleep...and that sure didn't make matters any better!! Among doctor visits, shots for her ear infections, breathing treatments every four hours, sleepless nights, and an emergency room visit one night, probably the worst thing I had to do was take Brynlee to the hospital for a few days to be suctioned out. Yes, they stuck a tube down her nose and sucked all the yuckies out!! Most traumatic thing ever for Brynlee and me!! :( I seriously have nightmares about how sad it was!! Big thanks to my friend Amy for helping me with that one!! I would have broken down big time if she didn't go with me! Brynlee seems to be doing a lot better...I can still tell it's there but not near the intensity it was before! She started to sleep until...she started teething her second bottom tooth just a couple days ago!! GIVE THE POOR BABY A BREAK, AND THE MOM FOR PETE SAKE!! lol I'm just SO grateful she didn't get admitted to the hospital and I'm very grateful she is doing better! I'm glad this experience is almost over...I think I need a vacation!!! :) I'm glad my husband has a job right now, and I'm glad my job is being so understanding. I'm glad we have a place to live, food to eat, and that our baby is okay! :) I'm SO thankful for family, for their concern, support and love. Times like these sure do make you appreciate being healthy, make you appreciate a good night's sleep, and for me, they make me slow down and enjoy the simple things in life again! Even though I feel like the walls in my house are closing in on me it's kinda been nice to lounge around in PJ's all day...snuggle and nap with my baby, and actually get some cleaning done!! haha I can't expose Brynlee to big crowds until RSV season is over...so I'm going to be doing a lot of what I've been doing for a couple more months!! Spring cannot get here soon enough!! :)

Poor Sick Little Baby

This picture is funny to me because I've been getting creative on ways to entertain ourselves...I was cooking dinner and had music I was dancing to thinking Brynlee would laugh at me. Instead every time I looked over this is the face I got like "what are you doing mom?" haha totally made me laugh!!

Feeling MUCH better!! :)

Pure Exhaustion....

I cannot express how glad I am that this weekend is almost over!!! It has been INSANE for me! Remember that little cough Brynlee started to have? It turned into a full blown horrible nasty cough and we have been up all hours of the night because of it! I had to work Friday and Saturday this weekend thus my mom had to take her to the doctor and watch a sick baby because I had full days of appointments both days I worked. In fact I was so busy Friday it was one of the most horrible days EVER!! Running on 4 hours of sleep, living on diet coke, I didn't have time to eat, drink, go to the bathroom, or pump for 8 solid hours!! It was CRAZY!! Then I find out Brynlee has yet another ear infection which has gotten so bad it has turned into sinus infection and moved to her lungs...thus the HORRIBLE cough!! How does a baby get that sick that fast?? I have NO idea! But we are going to see a Ear, nose, and throat specialist and just get those dang tubes in her ears that way I don't have to guess anymore or make my baby suffer from an ear infection for so long because I just thought she was teething!! Sheesh! Being a baby is rough!! Being a mom of a sick baby is rough too!! lol Today was busy at work, but not as bad as Friday! THANK GOODNESS!! I am so grateful I am busy and have appointments in this economy...but man, it is rough, especially when you aren't sleeping at night!! Talk about pure exhaustion!! I am also stressed about Joe's new schedule at work. He got transfered jobs and it now working in North Salt Lake (yucky commute) and working 6 ten hour days!! I really feel bad for the poor guy...that is A LOT of hours!! But, this new schedule also puts a damper in my work schedule becuase Joe usually watches Brynlee on Saturdays. Thankfully my work is willing to work with me and let me work when I can...but it's so hard to leave Brynlee with just anyone when she doesn't take a bottle very well, and when I say she doesn't take it very well, I mean she fights it and starves herself instead! It stresses me out, and I worry the WHOLE time! I've tried everything to get her to take a bottle too! My mom can't watch her every Saturday becuase she works many saturdays also...so now I'm in a little bit of a pickle and need to figure out what to do...Anyways....enough ranting and raving for now! I should get to bed and get some sleep while I can...hopefully the medication starts helping soon!!! And thank heavens for Sunday!! I can't wait to have a day of REST! :)

Silly Baby!

Gosh I love this age!! Brynlee's personality is really coming out lately...she freaking kills me sometimes!! She is constantly doing something new that makes me laugh! Today she was being a copy cat of everything I did. I was chewing gum and didn't realize I was maybe chewing a little too much next thing ya know she making these dramatic gum chewing impressions of me! I was laughing so hard. The funny thing too is when you laugh at her it eggs her on...so she does whatever she was doing more to make you laugh more! Today I went and had lunch with one of my good friends who had two kids and one of which is a 6 month old too! He has one of those Jumperoo bouncy seats. We put Brynlee in it and she was going CRAZY!!! She LOVED it!! It's different from the door jam ones becuase it seems to bounce more. She was making us all laugh so hard! We are now investing in one for Brynlee becuase she was in it for over an hour and didn't want to get out!! She is definitely a crazy little baby, she keeps me in stitches all the time! I am a little worried right now though...she all of the sudden has a cough and it is kinda croupy or raspy however you would explain it. At what point should I take her in? I'm a rookie mom, so I have no idea!! lol It just popped up today and she seems a little congested...Cold?? I'm running the humidifer tonight and have her matress propped up a little...not sure what else to do. Any suggestions would be great!! :)

6 Months Old

Well Brynlee is officially 6 months old!! I can't believe how fast time flies!! She is growing up so fast!! She really doesn't like the doctor's office...she has learned when she is laid down on the table she should start crying because something bad is going to happen! Poor thing!! lol I wanted to blog down her stats so I don't forget... She is 25 1/4 inches long (30 percentile) 15lb. 9oz. (45%) and her head is still LARGE 43 1/2cm around (75%!!!!). haha I also wanted to write down things she can do so I don't forget years from now!

  • She Eats rice cereals, baby oatmeal, bananas, applesauce, pears, peaches, green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, and drinks juices...
  • She really hates the bottle, at all costs she fights it while I'm at work and only eats solids...She is just as stubborn as her mom!
  • She grabs anything she can get her hands on and puts it in her mouth! She even grabbed the banana bunch on the counter the other day and tried to pick it up enough to get one in her mouth!! lol
  • She can sit up, she falls back when she gets tired.
  • She falls forward onto her stomach from sitting and reaches for things in front of her.
  • Her favorite toy is her squeeshy bath book she got at Christmas (Thanks Grandma Packer) and her lion Thanks Murphy Cousins!!:)
  • She loves to be center of attention...if she isn't she lets your know by screaming!
  • She loves to play with her dad, he gets her so wound up and laughing so hard she actually peed in the bathtub while she was laughing!
  • She is so curious and bright eyed! She doesn't miss anything!!!
  • She has such a sassy, funny, personality, she cracks me up all the time!
  • She has her first bottom tooth coming in, it just broke through.
  • She still has no hair, but I think it is starting to grow!! At least I hope!!
  • She has brown eyes with a little green to them...Not sure where she got brown eyes from but they are gorgeous!
  • She's not much of a cuddler anymore, but in the morning when I let her sleep in my bed after Joe leaves for work, she wakes me up by rolling over and grabbing my face. Then I open my eyes to a big smile and giggle! She totally starts my day off right!
Brynlee is definitely the light of my life! She always makes me feel better when I am sad, and happier when I am in a rotten mood, and she keeps me moving all day long! I love her to death and am so glad she's healthy and a part of our family!

This is my life....

I have to post about Friday night becuase it is definitely something funny I can look back at laugh at! I've had a good laugh today about it,Friday night I was having a meltdown over my life!! I've come to the conclusion that the laundry will NEVER get caught up, there will ALWAYS be dishes in the sink, and my life is just one crisis after another!!! :) This whole week has been hectic for me, but what week isn't?? Last night topped it all off though!! I was gone all day finally made it to the grocery store which is the biggest hassle in the history of the world for me! I don't know why the grocery store stresses me out so bad, but it really makes me crazy! It's like I can't concentrate on what I need and what should take 30 or so minutes takes me an hour!! Or I find myself wondering over the the baby area putting things in my basket I really don't need!! Does anyone else have this problem?? Anyways...I have a full car of groceries Brynlee is starting to cry becuase she is hungry. I walk in the door and know Joe will be home any minute from his massage appointment which I graciously let him have even though I was the one that colored and cut a co-workers hair for a trade service...But he could get the groceries so I could feed Brynlee. I walk in my door to find all my pumping attachments shred into tiny plastic pieces all over my floor!!! I don't know how my dog got the bag open or why she would do such a naughty thing....but I was FURIOUS!!! I walk a little further in still trying to calm my now screaming child to find throw up and thrown up plastic all over my carpet!!!! Now I am even more mad!!!! I call Joe trying to find out where he is at becuase I can't let my groceries sit much longer. He doesn't answer!!! Where is he??? I feed Brynlee and try calling again NO ANSWER!! Nothing frustrates me more than when I need his help and he doesn't answer becuase he doesn't hear his phone or something...this happens often! lol So I get Brynlee settled and start bringing the groceries in....as I'm doing this I begin to start crying. Why? I have no idea, but crying seems like a better option than screaming! I then slip on the ice rink right by my car spot under the car port. What idiot designs gutters to drain into the area people get out of their car?? Seriously, who gets paid to be so stupid??? I fall on my knee so hard the tears are uncontrollable now!! Joe finally calls and convinces me the 7 layer bean dip I was suppose to make and the party we were suposse to be at might have to wait! My dog is sick from all the plastic she ate and shaking...thus I need to call the vet!! Joe helps with the groceries and then goes to take a shower and the dang shower handle which is already broken really breaks and now needs intimidate attention!! I call my mom in the mean time and she just laughs!! If it weren't for her helping me see the humor in everything I really think I would have taken my dog out back and shot her!! lol I also would have gotten on the phone and chewed out our HOA presidant for the ice problem!! Now that I've had a couple days to calm down and laugh about my crazy night I can be more civilized in my actions!! Joe redeemed himself for not being much help by doing the dishes, doing some laundry, fixing the shower, and making me a wonderful candle lit bubble bath so I could soak my sore knee and relax!!! What a sweety!! :) I've come to the conclusion....this is my life!!! If I don't laugh about things like then I'll never make it!!!

In other news...Brynlee is teething. I am not a fan!! Not a fan of not sleeping, not a fan of a fussy baby, and not a fan of the razor sharp tooth while I try to nurse!!!! We'll see how long that will last! lol She has actually done pretty well I think though...I mean that has got to hurt!! How long does it take for the tooth to come in? I'm not very teethihng savy yet...We've just begun the start of a very long process though I'm sure!! Wish us luck!! :)

She is still pretty happy even though she's teething! :)

It's a miracle!!!

I just have to post about some amazing things that are happening at the Murphy home!! It may not seem like much of a miracle, but for Joe and I, it is absolutely amazing!! Just this past week Brynlee has been going to sleep on her own!! Naps, night time, etc.... I feed her and put her in her crib and she just goes to sleep! It's like magic!! It is a miracle!! It's amazing!! haha I could never really let her cry herself to sleep...one becuase I don't think it's fair to our neighbors to hear a screaming baby at night, and two becuase when it came down to it, it broke my heart! But she doesn't really cry, she just goes to sleep! I am loving it!!! It is awesome!! haha It's amazing how great life is and how happy Brynlee is when she doesn't have an ear infection!! :) I'm loving the age she is at right now...She can sit up on her own for themost part. She is still figuring out the balance thing but will stay up a good few minutes before she falls over. She loves to play, and watch me work out in the mornings...She thinks it's hilarious! I'm so glad she thinks I'm funny! I've never really been a funny person so it's fun to know at least someone thinks I'm funny! :) When it snowed all day Tuesday we didn't go anywhere!! It was fun to just be home and lounge around and play with Brynlee. Usually I always have somewhere to be or something to do. But we had some fun...She loves her new "Jenny Jumper" that attaches to the door frame so she can jump around. She laughs and smiles the whole time!! I know I'm very biased, but I really think she is so dang cute! :)

My Personal Favorite!! Her eyes get SO big when she is so excited!! lol

Our 3rd Anniversary!

Today is our 3rd year anniversary!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone! It really seems like just yesterday that we were married!! It was fun today to think about what time it was and where we and what we were doing 3 years ago! It was definitely colder today than it was 3 years ago! I don't think I could have worn a short sleeve dress today while taking pictures for 2 hours, it was like 17 degrees!! Joe and I have had so much fun getting to know each other better and becoming even better friends than we were before we got married! He is definitely my best friend....knows all my annoying little quirks and loves me anyways!! I'm so thankful I found someone so patient, loving, generous, selfless, and amazing as him! Most days I really feel like I don't deserve him! He is so good to me! I'm so glad we can be together forever if we live righteously! I'm sure glad I went to his house one Sunday after he came home from his mission to welcome him home. Why did I do that? I have no idea!! I really didn't even know him before he left!! You would think after living across the street from each other for a few years we would have known each other better!! But he turned out to be my happily ever after....and for that I am so grateful!! I love you babe!!

I was just looking at our photographers website...she still has our album on there. You can see the whole day if you really want!! :)
